Mercedeez Francis of Tiffin University, competing unattached, and Concordia-St. Paul senior Arika Harbo, the reigning NCAA Division 2 indoor and outdoor champion, finished third and sixth overall in the women's high jump final at the USATF Indoor Championships at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico. Francis cleared a lifetime-best 6-1.50 (1.87m) on her third attempt, with Harbo achieving a 5-10.50 (1.79m) clearance on her first opportunity. Harbo edged Francis at both the Division 2 indoor and outdoor championships last year.
